Translational Research: The Road from Efficacy to Equity

The UNC Minority Health Conference is the largest and longest-running student-led health conference in the country. The 33rd  annual conference, scheduled for February 24, 2012, will be on "Translational Research--The Road from Efficacy to Equity," and will be held at the Friday Continuing Education Center in Chapel Hill.

This year's keynote speakers include Ana Diez-Roux, an expert in social epidemiology and neighborhood health effects, and Nina Wallerstein, an expert in community-based participatory research. The conference will also include speakers from the Harlem Children's Zone, the National Health Law Program, and the Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention. This year's conference will include sessions on school nutrition policy, aging, LGBQT health, refugee health, healthcare law, global environmental health, health communication, and education.
