NC Women United's Wake (County) Women's Agenda Assembly

For those of you who attended the December GWG discussion, we talked about different projects we were working on around issues affecting women,  I had mentioned that NC Women United (www.ncwu.org)  would be holding a Wake County Women's Agenda Assembly in Raleigh (Peace College) on Saturday, January 29.  These assemblies are done prior to the NC General Assembly's long session, and are a great way to learn about different issues affecting women and families that may be coming before the state assembly, network with with different people and organizations doing work on these issues, and learn more about citizen advocacy. For registration and information, please visit www.wakewaa.wordpress.com.  While this focuses on local, rather than international issues, we will be discussing many issues that may be of interest to some of you, such as certification of midwives in the state, immigration/citizenship issues, human trafficking, sexual assault, domestic violence, access to housing, etc. The program is open to anyone interested, whether you live in Wake County or not (NCWU is a state organization).  Please considering joining us if you can!
