Bringing together tomorrow's leaders in global health with today's, through a week long inter-institutional case competition hosted by the universities of NC State, UNC, and Duke, and the Triangle Global Health Consortium.

About the NC GHCC

The North Carolina Global Health Case Competition provides a venue for North Carolina’s university students from multiple disciplines to develop innovative solutions for a specified global health problem. The case competition allows teams of four to six students to work through a real-life case scenario and develop succinct, strategic recommendations for improving a global health issue. Teams have 5 days to work on the case study to eventually compete against other universities by presenting their recommendations to a distinguished panel of judges. All team members will be recognized for their participation, and a monetary prize will be awarded to first and second place proposals.

Why participate?

The Global Health Case Competition is a great way to initiate dialogue and foster interdisciplinary approaches to global health on campus, as well as raise awareness among students, faculty, and staff. This competition also provides an opportunity to meet other students and global health professionals in North Carolina, while exploring some of the ethical, cultural, and economic issues surrounding global health policy logistics, development, and implementation.

Who can participate?

All North Carolina-based university students, both graduate and undergraduate, from all disciplines are invited to enter the competition. We also welcome non-NC-based university teams, if space allows. Registration fee for non-host university teams will be $200, payable by the university administration on behalf of the students.
